Patients
Odento gives patients a simple, conversational way to manage their dental care. Book appointments, access treatment records, view prescriptions, and pay bills — all through WhatsApp or the Odento patient app. No paperwork, no phone tag, no lost records.
Overview
The patient experience in Odento is designed to be effortless. Most patients never need to install an app or remember a password — they interact with their dentist through WhatsApp, where Odento's assistant handles booking, reminders, and follow-ups. For patients who want more control, the Odento patient app and web portal provide full access to records, appointments, and payments.
Conversational First
Patients don't need to learn a new app. They message their dentist on WhatsApp the way they always have — Odento works behind the scenes to schedule, remind, and follow up. The app and portal are there for patients who want them, not a requirement.

How Patients Access Odento
Patients can interact with Odento through three channels:
- WhatsApp: The primary channel. Patients message their dentist's Odento number to book, reschedule, ask questions, and receive reminders. No app installation needed.
- Patient app (Android/iOS): For patients who want a dedicated app with full access to records, appointment history, and payment management.
- Web portal: Accessible from any browser at the dentist's Odento URL. Patients log in with their phone number and OTP.
No Separate Account Needed
Patients don't sign up for Odento directly. When a dentist adds a patient to their practice or a patient books an appointment online, an Odento patient profile is created automatically. The patient simply uses their phone number to access any channel.
Privacy and Consent
Patient data is handled with the utmost care:
- Records are only shared with the patient's explicit consent, granted through a digital flow
- ABDM-linked records require separate consent for each sharing action
- Patients can view and revoke consents at any time through the app or portal
- All data is encrypted in transit and at rest
- Odento complies with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act
