Medical Records

Your dental health history belongs to you. Odento gives patients full access to their treatment records, prescriptions, and clinical notes — and lets you share them securely with other healthcare providers through ABDM.

Viewing Your Records

Access your records through the patient app or web portal. Log in with your phone number and OTP — no password to remember. Your record includes:

  • Treatment history: A chronological list of every procedure you've had, with dates, the dentist who performed it, and clinical notes
  • Prescriptions: Every medication your dentist has prescribed, with dosage, frequency, and duration
  • X-rays and images: Intraoral photos and radiographs taken during your visits
  • Treatment plans: Any active or completed treatment plans, with procedures and pricing
  • Perio charts: Periodontal charting records, if your dentist has performed perio exams
  • Medical history: The medical history your dentist has on file — conditions, allergies, and medications

All Your Dentists in One Place

If you visit multiple dentists who use Odento, all your records appear in a single timeline. You don't need to request records from each clinic separately — they're already connected through your phone number.

Treatment History

Your treatment history is the backbone of your dental record. Each entry shows:

  • Date and time of the appointment
  • Dentist and clinic name
  • Procedures performed (e.g., "Composite restoration — tooth #11")
  • Clinical notes written by the dentist
  • Materials used (e.g., specific composite or cement brand)
  • Any X-rays or photos taken
  • Prescriptions issued
  • Next visit recommendation

Tap any entry to see the full detail. You can download a PDF summary of your complete treatment history for insurance claims, second opinions, or personal records.

Prescriptions

Every prescription your dentist writes through Odento appears in your records. Each prescription shows:

  • Medication name and strength
  • Dosage instructions (e.g., "1 tablet twice daily after meals")
  • Duration (e.g., "for 5 days")
  • Reason for prescription
  • Prescribing dentist and date

You'll also receive the prescription via WhatsApp when it's issued, so you can show it to your pharmacist directly from your phone.

ABDM Integration

Odento integrates with India's Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). If you have an ABDM health ID (also called Ayushman Bharat Health Account or ABHA), you can link it to your Odento record. This enables:

  • Consolidated health records: Your dental records from Odento become part of your national health record, viewable alongside records from hospitals, clinics, and labs that also use ABDM
  • Sharing with other providers: If you visit a new dentist or a physician who needs your dental history, you can grant them access through ABDM — no need to carry physical files
  • Receiving records from others: If another healthcare provider has shared records with you through ABDM, you can view them in your Odento portal

You're in Control

No record is shared through ABDM without your explicit consent. When a provider requests access, you receive a notification with details of what they're asking to see and for how long. You approve or deny each request, and you can revoke access at any time.

Sharing Your Records

You can share your dental records with another provider in two ways:

  • Via ABDM: If the provider is also on ABDM, grant consent through the Odento portal — the records are shared digitally and securely
  • Via PDF: Download a summary PDF of your treatment history and share it directly with the provider via WhatsApp or email

Updating Your Information

You can update your contact details, emergency contact, and preferred communication channel directly in the app or portal. Changes to your medical history (allergies, medications, conditions) are submitted to your dentist for review before being applied to your clinical record — this ensures your dentist is aware of any changes that might affect your treatment.

Report Allergies Promptly

If you develop a new allergy — especially to a medication or dental material — update it in your record and notify your dentist immediately. Odento flags allergies during prescription and treatment planning to prevent adverse reactions.
