Wave
A video content platform built for dental education. Watch on-demand procedures, attend live surgeries, and access a curated library of clinical content from leading dental educators.
Overview
Wave is Odento's video-first education platform. It hosts clinical procedure videos, lecture recordings, technique demonstrations, and live-streamed events. Content is created by verified dental educators — practicing specialists, academic faculty, and industry experts — and organized into a searchable, categorized library.
Wave integrates with Sparkwise (learning management) so that video content can be embedded directly into courses and assessments. It also integrates with Linklane, where educators can share video case studies with their professional network for discussion.
Adaptive Streaming
All Wave videos use adaptive bitrate streaming (HLS). The player automatically adjusts quality based on your connection — from 240p on slow mobile data to 1080p on broadband.

Live Streaming
Wave supports live streaming for real-time dental education. Educators can broadcast live surgeries, interactive workshops, and Q&A sessions. Live streams feature real-time chat, audience polling, and the ability to save the recording to the library after the event ends.
Live Stream Features
- Real-time chat: Audience can ask questions during the stream.
- Moderation: Educator or a designated moderator filters questions.
- Polls: Interactive polls to engage the audience and gather feedback.
- Multi-camera: Switch between oral camera, overview, and presentation views.
- Recording: Automatically saved to the library with chat transcript.
- Attendance tracking: View who attended and for how long (useful for CDE credits).
Patient Consent for Live Streams
Live-streaming a patient procedure requires explicit written consent. Wave provides a consent template that must be signed before the stream begins. The consent record is stored with the video metadata.
Creating and Uploading Content
Verified educators can upload video content to Wave. The upload process supports MP4, MOV, and WebM formats up to 10 GB. After upload, the platform automatically transcodes the video into multiple quality levels for adaptive streaming.

Educators can organize videos into playlists and series. A playlist is a curated collection of videos on a theme — for example, "Molar Endo Series" or "Implant Surgery Basics." Series are sequential, structured learning paths where videos must be watched in order. Series can be linked to Sparkwise courses for structured certification.
Analytics for Educators
Educators get detailed analytics on their content performance:
- Total views, unique viewers, and watch time
- Audience retention curve (where viewers drop off)
- Geographic distribution of viewers
- Engagement metrics (likes, saves, shares, comments)
- Revenue share for premium content (if applicable)
Monetize Your Content
Verified educators can offer premium videos behind a paywall or subscription. Odento handles payments, access control, and revenue splitting.
